It has a feature that detects when the fastener has broken free and automatically slows the anvil speed to prevent run-away fasteners. We recently purchase a Gen II FUEL ½” drive impact and have been very impressed. I prefer the spring loaded ball socket retention to the friction ri8ng that comes on the 3/8” impact.
